Summary
Do It Today is a free, private journaling app. Your notes are stored only on your device — we never receive them. Because of that, you are responsible for keeping your own backups, and the app is provided “as is”. The full terms are below.
Accepting these terms
By installing or using Do It Today, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. If you obtained the app from Google Play, Google Play’s own Terms of Service also apply to that distribution.
Your licence to use the app
Do It Today is free to use. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own purposes. We do not charge for the app, and there are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or advertising.
You may not sell, rent, or redistribute the app itself, or attempt to reverse-engineer it except to the extent the law expressly permits.
Your content is yours
Everything you write in the app — your entries, learnings, to-dos, quick captures, and mood and energy ratings — belongs to you. We claim no ownership or rights over it. We also have no access to it: it is stored only in the app’s private database on your device and is never transmitted to us.
You are responsible for what you choose to write in the app and for complying with the law where you live.
Backups and data loss — please read this
Because your data lives only on your device, it is not stored on any server we operate, and we cannot recover it for you under any circumstances.
Your data can be permanently lost if you uninstall the app, reset or lose your device, clear the app’s data, or if the device fails. To protect against this, the app provides:
- a manual export to a JSON backup file, which you can save or share wherever you choose (Settings → Data → Export), and
- support for Android Auto Backup, which may copy the app’s data to your own Google account if you have that feature enabled on your device.
Keeping backups is your responsibility. We strongly recommend exporting a backup regularly, and before changing or resetting your device. We are not liable for any loss of data, however it occurs.
Not medical, psychological, or professional advice
Do It Today lets you record optional mood and energy ratings and reflect on your day. It is a personal journaling and productivity tool only.
It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, psychological, mental-health, or any other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in the app should be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. If you are struggling with your mental or physical health, please contact a doctor, a qualified professional, or your local emergency or crisis service.
Any reminders, streaks, statistics, or insights the app shows are informational conveniences generated from what you typed. They are not assessments of your wellbeing.
Reminders are best-effort
The app schedules reminders using your device’s own alarm and notification system. Whether a reminder arrives on time depends on your device — its power saving and battery optimisation settings, Do Not Disturb, notification permissions, and manufacturer-specific restrictions are outside our control. Do not rely on Do It Today for time-critical, safety-critical, or medication-related reminders.
Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time, and we may stop distributing it. We may also update these terms; if we do, we will change the effective date above and post the revised terms on this page. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revised terms.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that reminders will always be delivered.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Samanvi Technologies will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the app — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because the app is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to INR 1,000 or the amount you paid for the app (which is nil), whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Open-source components
Do It Today includes open-source software components, each governed by its own licence. You can read the full licence texts inside the app at Settings → About → Open-source licences.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to the app or these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
