The Lost Realm — a hand-painted fantasy adventure that runs in your browser

You wash up on the Lost Island with a forgotten map and no idea what is waiting past the shore. Five places, five rune shards, about ten minutes. No download, no account, and it keeps playing when your signal does not.

A short adventure that respects your time

Play it in one sitting

The island runs from the shore to the beacon in roughly ten minutes. It is finished, not a demo that stops halfway — there is a real ending, and the five shards come back together when you reach it.

Nothing to install, nothing to join

It opens like a web page. No store, no download, no account, no email. If you want it on your home screen you can install it, but you never have to.

It keeps working without a signal

After your first visit the whole game — code and all thirty-three paintings — is stored on your device. On a plane, in a lift, on a phone with no data, it plays exactly the same.

Nothing about you is collected

No login, no database, no analytics, no tracking pixels. A pre-launch audit confirmed the game makes zero external requests while you play. Your progress sits in your own browser and goes nowhere.

Five places on one island

Each one asks something different of you. None of them asks you to be quick.

  1. The Mysterious Shore in The Lost Realm — moonlit coastal ruins above a dark sea, three paths leading inland

    Stage 1

    The Mysterious Shore

    Choose a path

You land with a forgotten map and three ways inland. The gentlest possible start: one decision, no way to lose the adventure.

  2. The Enchanted Forest in The Lost Realm — towering moss-lit trees with carved marks on their trunks

    Stage 2

    The Enchanted Forest

    Find the mark

Four trees, one carving that matches. Pick wrong and that tree is out of play, so the search narrows as you go.

  3. The Crystal Cave in The Lost Realm — a cavern lit by tall glowing crystals

    Stage 3

    The Crystal Cave

    Remember the sequence

Three crystals sing in order and you repeat it. One free replay, then it costs a point of magic.

  4. The Forgotten Mountain in The Lost Realm — a high pass under a cold sky with a bridge across a chasm

    Stage 4

    The Forgotten Mountain

    Weigh the risk

Trail, bridge or ledge. There is no wrong answer here — only what each route costs you, and the ledge is closed off at one heart.

  5. The Ancient Ruins in The Lost Realm — a sunlit ruined city with floating islands and a great stone arch

    Stage 5

    The Ancient Ruins

    Three gates, then the beacon

Everything the island taught you, in order, with a checkpoint at each gate so a slip near the end does not send you back to the start.

A map that remembers

Every place you have been, every path that has opened, and every keepsake you have picked up stays on the island map between visits. It shows you where you are, tells you once when a new way unlocks, and marks the stages you cleared without a single wrong answer.

Close the tab and come back tomorrow — the island is where you left it.

  • PERFECT — earned on a first clear with no wrong answers and no restart. A later replay cannot backfill it.
  • Three keepsakes — the Singing Crystal, the Eagle Feather and the Keeper’s Sigil. Optional, never required, and easy to miss.
  • Five rune shards — one per stage, reassembled into their broken disc when the island is done.

What it is not, yet

Said here rather than discovered after you click.

It is silent

There is no music and no sound effects. Audio is planned and has not been made, so everything the game tells you, it tells you on screen. Play it anywhere without headphones.

It is one island

Five stages, one world, one ending. The game is built so more islands are cheap to add, but none is written yet — and we would rather tell you that now than let you finish and wonder.

Questions

Is it really free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy, no ads, no trial and no account. The game has no payment code in it at all — monetisation was never built, not switched off.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It opens in your browser like any web page. If you want it on your home screen you can install it — it is a Progressive Web App — but that is a choice, not a step.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once you have opened it once. The game stores itself on your device — all 54 files, including every painting — so it plays with no connection at all. Handy on a plane or a bad signal.
How long does it take to finish?
About ten minutes to go from the shore to the beacon. It is a short adventure by design, not a demo that stops partway.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in your own browser’s storage on the device you played on. Nothing is sent anywhere, so progress does not follow you to another device or another browser. Only RESET PROGRESS clears it.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. It is a gentle fantasy adventure with no violence, no chat, no other players and no way to spend money. Failing a stage costs you the attempt, never the adventure — you restart that stage with your health refilled.
What do you collect about me?
Nothing. There is no login, no database, no analytics and no tracking — a deployment audit confirmed the game makes zero external requests while you play. Your progress never leaves your browser.
Does it have sound?
Not yet. The game is silent today; audio is planned and has not been made. Everything the game tells you, it tells you on screen.
Is there more after the island?
Not yet. The Lost Island is the first island and it is finished — five stages, all five rune shards, three keepsakes. More worlds are possible because of how the game is built, but none is written yet, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
What do I need to run it?
Any current browser on a phone, tablet or computer. It works in portrait and landscape, and respects your system’s reduced-motion setting if you have one on.

The island is waiting

Ten minutes, no sign-up, nothing to install.
