Do It Today – Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 July 2026
App: Do It Today (Android)
Developer: Samanvi Technologies

Summary

Do It Today is a private, local-first journaling app. It does not
collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account and no sign-up.
Everything you write stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Do It Today has no account system and no login. We do not collect,
store, or transmit any personal information to us or to any third party. The app
contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

What the app stores (on your device only)

The notes and settings you create are saved locally on your device, in the app’s
private database. This includes:

  • Your daily entries — “Did”, “Learned”, and “Tomorrow” items — and optional mood and energy ratings
  • Quick-capture notes
  • App settings such as reminder times, theme, and the hour your day starts

This information never leaves your device through the app. We, the developer,
cannot see it and have no access to it.

Permissions and why they are used

Do It Today requests only the permissions needed for local reminders:

  • Notifications — to show your night and morning reminders
  • Alarms & reminders (exact alarms) — to deliver reminders at the times you choose
  • Run at startup (receive boot completed) — to restore your scheduled reminders after the device restarts
  • Vibrate — for reminder alerts

These permissions are used entirely on your device; no reminder content is sent
anywhere. The app does not request access to your contacts,
location, camera, microphone, or photos. It only touches a file you explicitly
choose when you import a backup.

Backups

Do It Today gives you two ways to keep your data safe, both under your control:

  • Manual export / import. You can export a full backup to a JSON
file and choose where to save or share it using Android’s share sheet. You can
later import that file to restore your data. These files are created and
controlled by you; the app does not upload them anywhere.
  • Android Auto Backup. Android may automatically back up the
app’s data to your own Google account (Google Drive) so you can
recover it if you reinstall the app or switch devices. This is a standard
Android feature managed by your device and Google account settings, not by us.
That backup is governed by Google’s privacy policy and your Google account
settings, and you can turn it off in your device’s backup settings.

Data sharing

We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any. The
only movement of your data is the backups described above, which you initiate and
control.

Children’s privacy

Do It Today does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Family members can keep separate local journals on the same device without any
account or personal data.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised
policy on this page.
